The Story
A gripping solo performance about survival, memory, and quiet resistance
In the shadows of war, how do ordinary people hold on to who they are?
Set during the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong (1941–1945), It Won’t Be Long Now unveils the untold stories of those who lived just outside the Sham Shui Po Prisoner of War Camp — caught between shifting powers, redefined freedoms, and the daily demands of endurance. For three years and eight months, they adapted, resisted, and remembered — not with weapons, but with will.
With poetic power and restrained intensity, It Won’t Be Long Now reveals a community’s quiet resistance: a refusal to surrender dignity, identity, or hope.
Told through vivid storytelling and intimate performance, this is a tale of survival that resonates far beyond its historical setting — echoing, perhaps, in places where voices still long to be heard.
Marking 80 years since Hong Kong's Liberation Day, this timely performance invites audiences to reflect on a journey from occupation to freedom — a moving reminder of how history shapes us, and how the light endures.
They are not afraid. They do not despair. And they believe in tomorrow.
